The security of a web application is important for every website owner. Is there a way to block particular IP address(es) from accessing your website? The cPanel offers an interface IP Blocker from where you can restrict IP addresses from accessing your website.
In this tutorial, we are going to see how to use the IP Blocker option in cPanel to block the IP address. Please follow the below steps to block the IP addresses. You can also block FQDNs rather than IP addresses. An FQDN is a Fully Qualified Domain Name which can be in the format of sub.main.tld such as webmail.domain.com
1) Login to the cPanel
You can login to the cPanel from a web browser. Please follow the instructions to enter the cPanel URL into the address bar.

2) Go to IP Blocker
Now you need to go to the “IP Blocker” from the cPanel. It is under the “Security” section. Necessary screenshots are added so that you can refer for any clarifications.
3) Add IP Address to be blocked
In the next page, you can enter the IP address to be blocked. You could also add an IP range to block the access. You need to provide the IP address or FQDN in the text field and click on the Add button to add an IP address or domain so that no further access can be possible from the same IP address or the IP address to which the domain resolves to.
There is also a brief description of the format of IP address how you can add to blocker. It will be available in CIDR format also. This is how you can block an IP address from the cPanel IP Blocker.
There is also an area to view the currently blocked IP addresses.
This will be just below the above field. All the IP addresses or IP ranges that are blocked will be shown in this area. A sample screenshot is attached below. You could refer the screenshots for a detailed understanding.
In this page, there will be the following fields.
1) Server Setting
2) Beginning IP
3) Ending IP
4) Actions
The IP addresses blocked are listed on the same page. You could remove the block of an IP address by clicking on the “Delete” button on the right end of the IP address.
