If you have SSL certificate on your domain, you can configure each or both base URLs to operate over secure SSL channel. Secure base URL begins with https, and unsecured base URLs starts with HTTP.
If you want to change the domain name of your Magento website, you need to update the website URLs. You can follow the below given steps to update the base URLs from the Magento dashboard.
Update Base URLs in Magento
It is very easy to update base URLs on your Magento website. Just follow the steps given below.
1) Login to Magento dashboard with your admin login credentials.
2) Go to Stores >> Settings >> Configuration.
3) Under “General” section click “Web”.
There are two sections:
Base URLs: Enter the unsecured base URL (e.g., http://domain.com) for your website. Also please make sure that the URL ends with a forward slash (/).
Base URLs (Secure): Enter your secure base URL(https).
4) Click the “Save Config” button in the top after making changes.
