Zencart is an awesome and light-weight eCommerce store management system. It is open-source software licensed under GPL2. It means that you are free to modify and update the code as per your requirements. As it is open-source software, developers are allowed to create and distribute plugins and themes. As a result, you get a huge repository of plugins that allows you to improve the functionality of your eCommerce store.
If you are using InterServer web hosting, you can easily create an eCommerce store using Zen Cart from Softaculous. Softaculous is an auto-installer that allows us to install ZenCart without any technical knowledge. In this tutorial, I am going to show you the same. So, let’s get started.
Install Zen Cart from Softaculous
First of all, log in to your cPanel account and click on the Softaculoud Apps Installer option. You can also use the search function if you are unable to find it directly in the list.
Under the eCommerce section in Softaculous, you will find Zen Cart. Click on the Zen Cart to navigate to the ZenCart’s main page on Softaculous. If you cannot find it directly in the eCommerce section, you can also search for it in Softaculous.
On the Zen Cart’s main page, you will see an Install button with a blue background just like the following image. Click on the install button to navigate to the installation form.
On the installation page, Select the protocol, domain, and directory in the first section. In the second section, set your store name, store owner name, and store address.
Finally, In the last section, Enter the admin login information and click on the install button given at the bottom of the form.
It will start the installation process instantly. Once it is done, Softaculous will show you a success message along with the admin URL.
