Cookies are used to store some user-specific temporary information that can help us improve the user experience on-site. For that, we have to configure cookie settings. It is not so hard to understand as we just have to specify the cookie domain and cookie path.
In this tutorial, I will show you How to set up cookie domain and cookie path in Joomla site. It provides an in-built interface to set these directives. So, It is an easy process and does not require you to have any technical knowledge. So, Let’s get started with the tutorial.
Cookie Settings in Joomla
First of all, log in to the admin panel of your site and click on the System -> Global Configuration option from the top navigation bar. See the following screenshot for reference.
Now, You will see a page containing multiple options as well as tabs. Click on the Site tab.
In the site tab, you will find multiple sections that you can use to update global configuration of your site. Find a section with heading Cookie Settings. In that section, you will find two fields that are empty by default.
In those fields, Enter the Cookie Domain and Cookie path.
After filling up the required information, click on the Save button given at the top-left corner of the page to apply changes.
So, this is how you can update cookie settings in the Joomla site. It is a very easy process and we recommend you to update these settings just after creating a new Joomla site.
