Prestashop is widely used as eCommerce management system around the world. As each and every country has a different currency, Prestashop provides an interface to manage currencies.
If your payment gateway allows you to accept payments in different currencies, you can use this feature to show specific currency to specific potential customers. Having an option to manage multiple currencies is very useful if you have customers from different countries.
In this short tutorial, I will show you how to manage currencies in Prestashop. This is a very powerful yet very easy feature in Prestashop. So, Let’s get started.
Add New Currency in PrestaShop
To create a new currency, click on the Localization -> Currencies option from the left sidebar in the admin panel. Follow the screenshots to visually understand the process.
On this page, you will see a list of available currencies in your store. To create a new currency, click on the Add new currency option from the top-right corner of the page.
Now, Enter the currency information like Name, ISO code, Symbol and much more. You can also set the exchange rate. However, this is kind of a drawback. As the price of currency changes every day, you have to frequently update the exchange rate of the currencies you are using in your store.
After filling up all the information, click on the Save button represented by a floppy disk in the bottom-right corner of the page.
Now, you will be able to see the newly created currency in the currency section.
If you want to edit the currency details, click on the Edit button corresponding to the currency you want to edit.
