How to Add Products in Magento

Magento allows you to create a custom eCommerce store on the Internet. It is an open-source software made in the PHP Zend framework. It is highly customizable as well as easy to use. Every eCommerce software should have an easy interface to allow store owners to work efficiently on the system. Managing products on an eCommerce store is one of the most important tasks. It is a daily or hourly process for eCommerce stores.

In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to add new products in Magento based eCommerce store. If your Magento store is brand new, I recommend you to and first. So, let’s get started with the tutorial.

Add new products in Magento

If you are creating an eCommerce store for the first time, It is good to know that eCommerce stores allow you to manage products under the Catalog option. So, Log in to the admin panel of your store and click on the Catalog option shown in the main navbar.

From the sub-menu, click on the Products option to navigate to the product manager. Refer to the following screenshot to locate the option to manage products.

On this page, you will find a list of products available in your Magento store. On this page, you can sort, search, update and delete products from your store. To create a new product, Click on the Add product button given at the top-right corner of the page.

On this page, you can enter all the required information about the product. You can enter details like Name, description, weight, status, etc. If you want to add a new attribute, you can click on the Add Attribute option given beside the Save button.

After entering all the required information about your product, Click on the Save button to save a product. You can also perform many save options like Save & New, Save & Duplicate, Save & Close by clicking on the drop-down icon given with the Save button.
