Joomla is an open-source content management system. You can use it to create any type of website on the internet. As it is open-source software, developers around the world are allowed to create extensions or plugins for the CMS. The plugins are nothing but a piece of code that allows you to improve the functionality of your site. You can think of plugin as a plug-and-play code that does not require you to have any knowledge of how it works internally.
Joomla also allows you to install extensions directly from the admin panel. It means that you do not need technical knowledge or the knowing of coding to install a plugin or extension. In this tutorial, I will show you how to enable plugins or extensions in Joomla. It is just a few click process. So, Let’s get started.
Enable Plugins in Joomla
To enable a plugin, log in to the admin panel of your Joomla site and click on the Extension -> Plugins option from the top navigation bar.
On this page, you will see a list of plugins available for your Joomla site. You can also search and sort the plugins to find whatever you want.
For instance, Let’s say we want to enable the Captcha plugin on our site. To enable the captcha plugin, just find it in the list, select it using the checkbox given in the first column of the table and then click on the Enable button given at the top-left corner of the page. See the following screenshot for reference.
Once the plugin is enabled, you will see a success message just like the following screenshot.
So, this is how you can enable plugins in Joomla. You can also disable any plugins using the same method. The only difference is, You have to click on the Disable button instead of the Enable button to disable single or multiple plugins.
