How to Repair Database Tables in osCommerce

osCommerce is an open-source eCommerce store management system. osCommerce is built on PHP programming language and it manages the store data in a MySQL database. As the MySQL database contains all the store data, the integrity of the data and the health of the database is important. Not only in osCommerce websites, but any website on the internet that manages the data in the database is important.

That is why repairing and backing up a database is important. It is because if something goes wrong, you should have a working backup of the database. And, you should also repair your database on a regular basis to keep it clean, fast and secure. If you are using osCommerce, you can repair your database tables directly from the admin panel. In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to repair a database table in osCommerce.

Repair Database tables in osCommerce

First of all, log in to the admin panel of your osCommerce store. Then, click on the Tools -> Database tables option from the left sidebar, just like the following image.

On this page, you will see a list of tables available in your database. Now, select the database tables that you want to repair using the checkboxes given on the right side of the table.

After selecting the database tables, select the Repair Tables option from the drop-down menu given after the list of tables. Then, click on the Go button. See the following screenshot for reference.

Confirm the operation by clicking on the Go button again.

So, this is how you can repair database tables in osCommerce. It is a very handy feature that you can use when something stops working on your site in a specific section. It might not solve the issue every time, but sometimes it might work.
