Install PrestaShop from Softaculous

Prestashop is an eCommerce store management system. It powers tens of thousands of eCommerce stores on the internet. You can easily create a local eCommerce store using Prestashop without worrying about the learning curve. You do not even need a developer to create an eCommerce store in Prestashop. As it is open-source software, developers all around the world can develop plugins and themes for Prestashop that you can use to improve the functionality and look of your store.

Normally the installation process includes multiple steps that require technical knowledge. However, If you are using FastyCloud web hosting, you can use Softaculous to install Prestashop on your domain name. Softaculous is an auto-installer script that allows you to install various content management systems with ease on your domain names. In this tutorial, I am going to show you the same.

Install Prestashop using Softaculous

To install Prestashop, log in to your cPanel account and click on the Prestashop option under the Softaculous Apps Installer section.

If you cannot find it there, you can access Softaculous by clicking on the Softaculous Apps Installer option in cPanel. Then, you can find the Prestashop option in Softaculous.

On the Prestashop page, click on the Install button given on the top-right corner of the page. It will redirect you to a page containing installation form.

On this page, Set the Prestashop version, protocol, domain and directory in the first section. If you want to install it directly on the domain name, keep the In Directory field empty.

In the second section, set basic store information like Store name and admin folder. The name of the admin panel will become the URL to access the admin panel.

In the last section, Enter Admin E-mail, password, First name and the last name of the admin. After filling up all the form, click on the Install button given at the bottom of the form just like the following image.

It will instantly start the installation process. Once it is done, you will see a screen just like the following image.

Now you can log in to the PrestaShop admin panel using the admin account details you have entered in the installation form.
