As a server administrator, there can be situations you need to suspend a cPanel account. Maybe due to delay in payment, DMCA complaints, etc., can lead to suspending a cPanel account. It can be done from the admin part of the cPanel, the Web Host Manager (WHM).
Generally, the suspended accounts will be marked as red when listing all accounts in cPanel. The WHM also allows us to display a full list of the suspended cPanel accounts. In this documentation, we are going to see how to list the suspended accounts from WHM.
Steps to Manage Suspended Accounts
Step 1: Login to WHM
The first step is to login to WHM. You could login to WHM by appending its port to the server hostname or IP address. An example is given below.
Eg: https://server.domain.com:2087
You need to use the username as “root” and the root password to login as root user. You could also use the reseller user name and reseller password to login as a reseller account. In this case, you may not be able to see all the accounts in the server but the accounts under your ownership.
Step 2: Go to List Suspended Accounts
Now you need to go to the “List Suspended Accounts”. It’s under the section “Account Information”. A few Screen shots attached here may be useful for better understanding.
You could also make use of the search box available in the top left corner of the WHM. You could search for List Suspended Accounts and it will show you the matching results. You need to click on the above option and it will display the full list of the suspended accounts.
You could unsuspend or terminate the cPanel account permanently from the server from the next page. Please note that terminating a cPanel account will result in losing all data belongs to that account, including any database, email etc.
