WordPress is an open source content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL. WordPress is an online website creation tool written in PHP and it is the easiest and most powerful blogging and website content management system. Also, they provide a large number of free themes and plugins to extend your website look and feel as your needs. There are some issues with the cPanel built in redirect function when using WordPress installation on your domains. Redirects are a way off for your website to send the request to another website when we browse. There are various types of redirects 301, 302, 307, etc. Here we are detailed about the 301 redirect as this one is the most important one.

Let’s see the steps to implement WordPress redirection by using the plugin:

1) Login to your WordPress admin dashboard by going to http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin and enter the username and password to access the dashboard of your website.

Once you have entered the dashboard, please follow the steps on installing a plugin by going to https://www.interserver.net/tips/kb/how-to-install-plugins-in-wordpress/. In this case, we would need to install the ‘Redirection’ plugin. This is a regularly updated secure one among other WordPress plugins.

2) Once you have activated the above plugin, go to Tools >> Redirection to set up the redirects. This plugin not only helps us to set up the redirection but also helps to track all 404 errors on our website, we can then set up a redirection for these to the exact destination on your website.
